About Sophie

Sophie Collé experiments with familiar colors and forms that result in unexpected furniture and objects. Inspired by toys and movements such as Memphis Milano , De Stijl, and the Bauhaus, her work is an homage to play. After studying Industrial Design at Virginia Tech, a quick stint at a contemporary art museum, and working in high-end residential interior design, she began materializing the numerous designs that filled her sketchbooks. With a deep appreciation for craft, she hand-builds all of her pieces out of her Brooklyn studio. She is forever questioning the relationship humans have with art, design, and furniture.

Sophie loves to collab! Reach out to us here with any inquiries.

All furniture is made of solid or ply wood. It is painted with a home-safe latex paint and water based varnish. All pieces are waterproof, but should still be treated with care. For dust or light marks, a lysol wipe or a wet rag does the trick!

We offer furniture or object rentals on short term bases for shoots or events. Rental cost varies per piece, please email us at sophie@sophiecolledesign.com to inquire!

We do to accept returns or exchanges, but if you have any problem with your items, please contact us at sophie@sophiecolledesign.com to discuss any issues you may have. We ask that you allow for some imperfections as each piece is handmade, sustainably, with love!

We offer shipping to any state in the continental United States. Most orders are shipped via UPS Ground, and are to be covered by customer. Sometimes shipping that is included is updated after delivery, and customer is responsible for reimbursing SCD. Due to the handmade and fragile nature of our furniture, shipping costs can sometimes be high. You will receive an email when your order has shipped which will include tracking. We are not responsible for items that are stuck in transit. UPS Ground guarantees delivery within 5-8 business days.

Lead time for all furniture on the website is 4-6 weeks. Larger custom pieces can take 2-3 months, depending on scale. Unfortunately, we cannot accept projects with a deadline of less than 3 weeks.

We are not responsible for any items lost or stolen in the mail. You will need to contact UPS or USPS to file a lost or stolen claim.
